Strategic Plan

Secure the Long Term Future of the School

The rebirth of All Souls St Gabriels School at the beginning of 2000 was a wonderful event, allowing the great tradition of learning, commitment and service to the North to continue into the 21st Century. It is important in these early years that the future of the school is secured for those of future years.

Objectives

  1. To secure the future of the school by obtaining tenure on the site of the school. ACHIEVED
  2. To secure the future of the school by the prudent management of the school's financial resources.
  3. To secure the future of the school by setting achievable goals in the growth of enrolments and marketing the school to achieve this growth.
  4. To draw on all the resources of the school community to work towards supporting the school. This includes the school's past students, formal and informal groups of parents and community groups committed to the school.
  5. To increase the sense of ownership and commitment to the school across the whole school family.

Strategies

  1. Continue to develop the Business Plan to administer the school in the most responsible way.
  2. Develop a plan to use key people to seek funding for the purchase of school from Dalrymple Shire Council and Charters Towers City Council by past students and other benefactors. ACHIEVED
  3. Consider a range of opportunities to attract funding through personal benefactors willing to fund target activities.
  4. Consider entrepreneurial activities to generate income eg using the school's land, hydroponics, cattle raising, seeking bequests etc.
  5. Communicate effectively with the extended All Souls Saint Gabriels family.
  6. Review and implement the Marketing Plan.
  7. Reflect on the school's marketing procedures so that a clearly defined and attractive "product" is offered to parents.
  8. Target a wider community in the pursuit of enrolments, particularly families from the coastal towns who may respond to the warm family atmosphere, the safety and security of All Souls Saint Gabriels School.
  9. Use technology to develop links with past students.
  10. Build the presence of the school in the independent schools community. This will require the school to take leadership roles in associations and commit itself to building and developing networks with other school groups.
  11. Develop a defining signature feature for the school - an activity that would make it different from other schools and which will lift school confidence and assist marketing.
  12. Create opportunities offered by full fee paying overseas students.
