Ensure A Safe and Secure Environment

All Souls St Gabriels School has a proud history of boarding. In the 21st Century the School seeks to continue that tradition with modern facilities in a safe and tolerant environment.

Objectives

1. Provide a high level of care and discipline within the whole school.
2. Provide an appropriate physical environment and maintain it to a highly aesthetic, functional and safe standard.
3. Provide upgraded facilities for boarders.

Strategies

1. Develop a long term refurbishment plan and program for school facilities.
2. Develop and maintain a dynamic long-term maintenance program for the school.
3. Monitor opportunities to access government funding and make submissions wherever possible.
4. Encourage all members of the boarding staff to undertake Professional Development in Residential Care.
5. Encourage all members of the boarding staff to become member of appropriate professional support bodies.
6. Maintain an up to date list of local support agencies, counsellors and contacts
7. Develop a school Behaviour Management Policy that articulates consequences for students and best practice for teachers.
8. Develop and/or review policies in the areas of Child Protection, Drugs, Harassment & Bullying, Privacy, Crisis Management, Boarding and Computer Usage.
9. Communicate the above and other policies to the ASSG community at large.
10. Develop facilities and consider privileges for older students that dignify their independence.
