Junior & Senior Secondary Mathematics

All Souls St Gabriels School requires a teacher of Junior & Senior Secondary Mathematics to commence in Semester 2, 2018.

This is a fulltime contract position for Semester 2 2018.

There is a possibility that the position may be continuing for the right candidate.

Applicants must be eligible for Queensland College of Teachers registration and the successful candidate will need to be registered to teach in Queensland at the time of employment.

The successful applicant must have the capacity to teach Mathematics in Years 7-12. The ability to teach in another subject area may be an advantage. The school will commence teaching the new QCAA Senior Syllabus to Year 10 students in Term 4, 2018 and consequently requires additional staff.

Applicants should have:

  • excellent knowledge of the QCAA and Australian Curriculum for Mathematics.
  • an understanding of contemporary curriculum issues.
  • an understanding of the learning and pastoral needs of a lower secondary school students.
  • confidence when using ICT.
  • the ability to work in a collaborative environment.

All staff are expected to contribute to the wider life of the school through their participation in extra-curricular activities.

The school has a large residential community of over 200 students, staff and their families who live on campus. Relocation allowance is available for staff that do not reside locally and some rental offset arrangements may be negotiated on a case by case basis.

Lunch is provided in the Dining Hall for staff at no cost.

The City of Charters Towers is an educational hub for northern Australia with three Co-Educational Day and Boarding Schools, three State Primary Schools, a State High School and a School of Distance Education. The education sector is the second highest employer in the City.
