Health Clinic Nurse

This is a permanent part-time position commencing on 16 April 2018, with a probation period of six months.

The Health Clinic Nurses form part of a multi-disciplinary team including the school’s Pastoral Care Team, Boarding staff, Counsellors and Clinical Psychologist.

The Health Clinic is a modern 12 bed facility with both consulting and treatment rooms.

Boarders can access a General Practitioner each weekday morning from 7:30am as a part of our association with Gold City Medical Centre.

Hours are 7:30am to 12:00pm, Monday to Friday, term time only (45 hours per fortnight).

Due to the residential nature of the school, nursing staff are rostered “on call” on some evenings and weekends.

Applicants must have current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse, current HLTAID004 – Provide an emergency response in an education and care setting first aid certificate and a Working with Children Blue Card.

The school has a student population of over 425 (K-12), with a large residential community of over 200 students, staff and their families who live on campus. Meals are provided in the Dining Hall for staff at no cost whilst on duty.

The City of Charters Towers is an educational hub for northern Australia with three Co-Educational Day and Boarding Schools, three State Primary Schools, a State High School and a School of Distance Education. The education sector is the second highest employer in the City.
