All Souls St Gabriels School has extensive offerings in the Arts.

Instrumental tuition in a wide number of instruments, as well as voice, is provided for all interested students. A number of instrumental ensembles from small ensembles to Stage and Concert Bands perform regularly alongside choirs and vocal ensembles. Drama and musical performances are staged from time to time and the School makes a major contribution to the Charters Towers Eisteddfod as well as State Honours Ensemble Programs (SHEP).

Students interested in learning about or developing their skills in the Visual Arts can now be involved with Less Talk More Art, held weekly after school. Artworks created are displayed in exhibitions within the Charters Towers and Townsville community. Our staff also seek out cross-curricular learning opportunities where students can apply visual skills to real world situations.

The ASSG Drama Club is a creative outlet for students who love to perform, express themselves, and build confidence on stage. Open to all senior students, the club welcomes anyone with an interest in acting, script work, improvisation, or stagecraft - no experience required.

Students regularly showcase their talents through a variety of performances, including our much-anticipated biennial musical, pop-up showcases, and appearances at Headmaster’s Assemblies and Chapel services.

The club provides a supportive space to build communication skills, teamwork, and self-expression, while contributing to the vibrant cultural life of the school.

Sport is a vibrant and valued part of life at All Souls St Gabriels School, offering students a wide range of opportunities to compete, grow, and thrive. Our students regularly compete against other Charters Towers schools through weekly fixtures, as well as in local club competitions and interschool exchanges with Townsville and other regional schools.

A diverse sports program includes rugby league, netball, cricket, softball, tennis, swimming, cross country, athletics, and touch football. Our popular Inter-House competitions are a highlight on the school calendar, sparking enthusiastic participation across all year levels.

ASSG supports student athletes with clear development pathways, offering opportunities for selection in Charters Towers District, North Queensland Region, Queensland State and even National teams.

For students with a passion for high-level performance, our High Performance Athletes Program provides targeted education and coaching in areas such as nutrition, strength and conditioning, recovery, and goal setting. Led by a dedicated high-performance coach, the program is delivered during elective class time, with optional after-school sessions and excursions to extend learning and support.

We also understand that many boarding students may be new to organised sport. To build confidence and skills, ASSG runs introductory clinics in most sports before team selections begin—ensuring every student feels supported and ready to participate.
