International students account for a small portion of our student population.
International students make an important contribution to our school culture and they are a welcomed part of the school community.
Some international students attend for the full five years of secondary studies, although some attend for a year or a semester to experience life in a society different from home.
Our School is situated in northern Australia within easy range of the Great Barrier Reef, the tropical rainforests and the Outback. However, it must be pointed out to prospective students that although there are numerous opportunities to visit such places, this can only be done as part of school life. Students are not permitted to come and go as they please.
International students become members of our boarding community with numerous opportunities to be involved in all the activities, sports, music, camps and life of boarding.
Most of our Australian boarding students are students whose homes are large pastoral stations which dot the Australian outback. They are friendly people who value the opportunity to meet some new “mates”. Every opportunity will be found during the student’s stay for the student to experience Australian culture, life and environment outside the school.
Students will be given opportunities to travel on excursions with other year levels if they wish.
From time to time, individual excursions with a staff member or school parent may be organised.
