Maintenance Officer

An opportunity exists for an energetic and passionate person to join a dedicated, flexible and supportive Grounds & Maintenance Team in the following role:

MAINTENANCE OFFICER
Fixed term contract – 6 months – immediate start.
Salary will be based on experience and qualifications.

The School’s Grounds and Maintenance Team is responsible for the general upkeep, repair, and maintenance of School buildings, grounds, and facilities to ensure a safe, clean, and functional learning environment for students, staff, and visitors. This role involves both reactive and preventative maintenance, responding to urgent repairs, and supporting School operations through various manual tasks.

CRITERIA

Essential:

• Proven experience in building, construction, or facilities maintenance.
• Basic skills in carpentry, painting, plumbing, and/or electrical work (non-licensed).
• Good understanding of WHS practices and safety procedures.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Physical ability to carry out manual tasks and outdoor work in various weather conditions.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Blue Card - or the ability to obtain prior to commencement.

Desirable:

• Previous experience working in a school or educational environment.
• Trade qualification or relevant certificates.
• First Aid certification.
