Dean of Students
This is a full-time, permanent position, with a commencement date of 7 January 2019.
The Dean of Students is a member of the School Leadership Team, along with the Headmaster, Deputy Head/Academic Dean, Dean of School, Head of Junior School, Head of Boarding, Business Manager and Head of Enrolments and Marketing.
Applicants must be eligible for Queensland College of Teachers registration, and the successful candidate will need to be registered to teach in Queensland at the time of employment.
The successful applicant must have the capacity to lead the pastoral care and behaviour support programs in the Secondary School (Years 7 – 12). Please consult the Position Description for detailed information.
The school has a rural outlook on the outskirts of Charters Towers and has facilities for cattle production, equine and horticulture ventures.
The School is a Pre-Prep to Year 12 Day and Boarding School with local students and students from all over northern Australia and PNG. The school was founded in 1920 and continues to operate as an Independent School in the Anglican tradition.
We are one of the largest co-educational boarding schools in Queensland, with a residential community of over 200 students, staff and their families living on the campus.
A relocation allowance is available to staff that do not reside locally, and some rental offset arrangements may be negotiated on a case by case basis. Lunch is provided in the Dining Hall for staff at no cost.
The City of Charters Towers is an educational hub for northern Australia with three Co-Educational Day and Boarding Schools, three State Primary Schools, a State High School and a School of Distance Education. The education sector is the second highest employer in the City.
