Secondary Sports Co-ordinator
All Souls St Gabriels School is seeking to employ a Secondary Sports Co-ordinator.
This is a fulltime maternity leave contract for 2018 commencing in Term 2.
Applicants must be eligible for Queensland College of Teachers registration and the successful candidate will need to be registered to teach in Queensland at the time of employment.
The successful applicant must have the capacity to teach a core subject to Years 7-10 and will be located in the secondary school.
The school has a strong focus on providing a sporting experience for all students ranging from the beginner through to high performance athletes.
The school is a member of the Charters Towers Secondary School Sports Association, which provides three seasons of sport in a home and away format and three major carnivals (swimming, cross-country and athletics) for students from the four local secondary schools.
The school also fields teams in local rugby league, rugby union, netball and touch football competitions.
The secondary sports co-ordinator is responsible for the oversight of all secondary sporting experiences. This includes staffing, budgeting, planning and delivery of all sports programs.
This role involves an out of regular hours commitment.
All staff are expected to contribute to the wider life of the school through their participation in extra-curricular activities.
The school has a student population of over 425 (K-12), with a large residential community of over 200 students, staff and their families who live on campus. Whilst residential life does not suit everyone, rental accommodation may be available for staff on campus. Rental assistance is provided to staff over the Christmas break.
Meals are provided in the Dining Hall for staff at no cost.
The City of Charters Towers is an educational hub for northern Australia with three Co-Educational Day and Boarding Schools, three State Primary Schools, a State High School and a School of Distance Education. The education sector is the second highest employer in the City.
