Rural Activities Co-ordinator

All Souls St Gabriels School is an independent Pre-prep to Year 12 co-educational day and boarding school, in the Anglican tradition, which has provided quality education for over 100 years to students from all over northern Australia and beyond.

An opportunity exists for an energetic and passionate person to join a dedicated secondary staff team in the following role:

RURAL ACTIVITIES CO-ORDINATOR
(Permanent Part Time)
25 hours per week
plus
co-ordination of an attendance at 4 (approx.) rural shows per year
as negotiated with the Deputy Headmaster commencing Term 2, 2024 - negotiable

The role, in conjunction with the Deputy Headmaster, is responsible for:

  • The development, organisation, delivery, and supervision of students attending the Extra-curricular Rural Activities including Cattle and Horse Clubs (generally held outside of School hours.)
  • Instructing students in Show judging and cattle handling
  • Preparing students to attend local agricultural shows (which may fall on the weekend)
  • General cattle/horse husbandry
  • Maintaining the School Rural Precinct

Applicants must hold, or be willing to obtain, a Queensland Light Rigid ‘LR’ driver licence. Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and animal husbandry qualifications would be highly regarded. Applicants must hold a current Blue Card and need to comply with all current workplace policies and procedures.
